SHAKE, SHAKE A HAND – A great audience participation song or song for kids and picnics. Custom arranged for Dixieland band with vocal and interaction. Each verse asks the audience to do something with a “neighbor” – The leader sings the melody and changes the action each time as the band moves up a half step each time.
Optional verses include:
Shake, shake a hand, shake a hand next to ya.
Pat, pat a back, pat a back next to ya.
Hug, hug a friend, hug a friend next to ya.
Pinch, pinch a cheek, pinch a cheek next to you. (Pinch the correct cheek;)
Or make up your own.
The arrangement has a vamp between each verse which allows banter from the leader. You can also repeat any section to use more actions.
Parts include piano/vocal/rhythm, clarinet, trumpet, tenor sax, trombone, baritone sax or tuba.
